Story
In a new era one hundred years after the defeat of Lord Vayne, and the Occuria known as Venat, there have been many new discoveries, one in particular being the Sky Continent of Lemures. However this time, a discovery even more great is made, West Ivalice. There has been knowledge in the past of it's existence, and some records still remain, detailing a time when both areas were united. Unfortunately, some catastrophic event happened, and a very powerful mist covered the land inbetween creating a gargantuan Jagd.
The two areas began to differentiate to an extreme. Ruins of airships and moogle cities, can be found scattered throughout Western Ivalice, serving as a reminder of the past. Eventually the moogles on the west died out, creating a great blow to technological developement, and the people regressed, eventually forgetting about what was, leaving the only known race to be humes. The east on the other hand continued to flourish, and was a melting pot of all times of races. Magic and technology was integrated smoothly together in the east, making life much easier compared to the west.
Even though the invention of glossair rings made out of nethicite, made traveling Jagds possible. The heavy mist concentration has greatly reshaped the environment, and inhabiting creatures to great monstrosities, making passage close to impossible. Yet some of this mist was absorbed gradually overtime, due to the scattered remanant of the destroyed Sun Cryst of a hundred years past. Using their advanced technology, the east eventually found a way to break through to the otherside. The Western Ivalician people took this as an opportunity for trade, and further developement, however the east took this as a great way to impose their technology on the more primitive west, and to eventually take over. Tensions between the two sides continue to grow, and a great war is on the horizon…
